The Ceremonial Cacao comes in easy to prepare 500g blocks. Packed beautifully in 100% biodegradable packaging ~ perfect for gifting to a loved one (or to yourself!)
Ceremonial Cacao contains an abundance of theobromine, stimulating the cardiovascular system, bringing a heart-warming and euphoric sensation, and can give you the feeling of a warm and uplifting “hum”. A beautiful addition to your morning, daily ritual, meditation or catch up with loved ones.
Preparation
Ceremonial Cacao can be combined with water or milk, both producing a beautiful creamy drink. When blended, it becomes even more creamy & frothy! Please use a heat safe blender if blending. A whisk combines the cacao and liquid beautifully, so does a stick blender.
A Ceremonial dose starts at approximately 40g.
Hot cacao recipe:
2 tbsp ceremonial cacao (~20g)
1 cup of heated coconut milk
1 tsp coconut sugar
Stir, whisk or blend for a delicious & nourishing drink.
Enjoy your Ceremonial Cacao!
How is Ceremonial Cacao Made, and what makes it 'Ceremonial Grade'?
Ceremonial Cacao is made using the highest quality Criollo cacao beans available, which have grown naturally and organically in Peru, without the use of chemicals or pesticides.
The Cacao beans are traditionally fermented, sun dried & winnowed. We stone grind the fragmented cacao beans until they become a smooth & delicious ceremonial cacao paste. Wild Craft Ceremonial Cacao is stone ground here in Australia, in small batches, ensuring quality & freshness. Each block is carefully hand packed and posted.
Ingredients:
100% Organic Cacao (Theobroma Cacao)
Frequently asked questions
How much cacao should I use?
Each person is different ~ when used in ceremony, the facilitator can provide guidance or a recommended dose. Generally I enjoy 20 - 30g (around 2-3 heaped, chopped tablespoons) for a delicious, chocolatey drink. Adjust cacao quantity to your personal needs - if you have not consumed pure cacao before, you may prefer to start with a smaller amount, perhaps 10 - 15g. Increase the amount as you feel suits, day to day.
Can I enjoy Ceremonial Cacao While Pregnant/Breastfeeding?
If pregnant or lactating, consult your healthcare provider. Personally, I have consumed cacao throughout my pregnancy & breastfeeding journey.
How do I prepare the cacao?
Our Ceremonial Cacao comes in an easy to cut block form - use a sharp knife to slice the cacao from the block.
Blending the Ceremonial Cacao with a hot liquid produces a frothy & creamy drink (the more cacao, the creamier!). You can also whisk or simply stir the cacao with warm milk or water.
What is cacao Bloom?
'Bloom' is the term used to describe the change in structure of the cacao butter crystals. Bloom does not affect the taste, quality or shelf life of your Cacao. Since ceremonial cacao is not 'tempered', the cacao butter fats naturally change structure over time. Bloom can appear like beautiful artworks on the surface of your Cacao, a thin a white later, a crumbly texture (until melted or used in a drink/cooking). It becomes more prominent over time, and develops faster when the cacao is exposed to warmer temperatures ~ it is natural & nothing to be concerned about.
How do I store the Cacao?
Store your cacao in an airtight container, in a cool, dark & dry place ~ a tupperware container in your pantry is perfect.
